Kia Unveils EV4 Sedan, Rival to Tesla Model 3, Coming Soon
Kia has revealed its EV4 sedan, which shares similarities with the recently launched EV3 SUV in New Zealand. The EV4 is set to arrive later this year, following the EV3's successful debut.
The EV4 sedan, which made a brief appearance at Kia New Zealand's 'EV Day' event, will compete with the Tesla Model 3. It boasts a longer wheelbase and a more aerodynamic shape (0.23 Cd) than the EV3, promising a longer range.
Kia expects the long-range EV4 to achieve an impressive 630km under the WLTP cycle. The EV3 SUV, now available in New Zealand, offers Light, Earth, and GT Line models with short and long-range variants, replacing the Niro EV in Kia's local range. The entry-level EV3 Light short-range model starts at $55,290, making it a competitive price point for an electric vehicle.
The EV4 sedan is scheduled for release in New Zealand later this year, likely in Q4. While the official distributor has not been confirmed, updates may be found on automotive manufacturers' websites or local New Zealand news outlets. Dealers and importers may also provide information once the distribution is confirmed.
