Introducing the Klipsch Professional In-Ceiling Series (PIC) for Exceptional Sound

Klipsch has unveiled its latest offering, the Professional In-Ceiling Series (PIC), designed for residential and commercial applications. This new line of speakers promises to deliver powerful, efficient, and highly directional sound with flexibility in installation and use, making them suitable for whole-house audio and professional-grade commercial environments.

The PIC series features the latest generation of SkyHook Pro technology by Swarm, ensuring tool-free, automatic, and self-adjusting installation. This technology, combined with the series' IPX5 rating, makes the PIC series durable and reliable for various weather conditions, ensuring long-lasting performance.

One of the standout models in the PIC series is the PIC-800SW, which delivers clean, dynamic low frequencies for distributed audio or whole home audio installations. The PIC-800SW boasts an 8-inch woofer, providing deep bass, and a patented Tractrix Hyperfold Port, engineered to maximize bass power and eliminate port noise.

The PIC series also includes the PIC-800SW 70-volt in-ceiling bandpass subwoofer, which is IPX5-rated, ensuring it can withstand different weather conditions. The series features design and performance enhancements tailored for integrators, including round, magnetic paintable grilles, available in both black and white, and Phoenix connectors for quick and intuitive pre-wiring connections.

For applications where ceiling mounting isn't possible, the PIC models are compatible with Klipsch's current pendant housing (KPH525, KPH-650, and KPH-800). Additionally, square grilles for the PIC models are available separately.

The PIC series continues Klipsch’s signature high-performance sound for music and surround sound applications. For instance, the CDT-5800-C II model uses a 1-inch titanium compression driver with a Tractrix Horn paired with an 8-inch Cerametallic woofer. This combination ensures improved low and high frequency reproduction, emphasizing accuracy and transparency in high-end home theater systems or commercial sound.

Controlled Dispersion Technology (CDT) with independently adjustable tweeter and woofer is another key feature of the PIC series. This technology ensures precise sound direction, providing a more focused and controlled sound experience. The woofer can rotate 360° and tilt 15° for further sound tailoring.

With a high efficiency of 93dB sensitivity and a maximum power handling of 50 watts RMS (200 watts peak), the PIC series speakers are suitable for both residential and commercial applications where long speaker wire runs are common.

In summary, the Klipsch Professional In-Ceiling Series (PIC) speakers offer a versatile solution for a wide range of audio needs. They replace the long-standing IC Series and come in various sizes, including 4.5-inch, 6.5-inch, 8-inch, and two 5.25-inch designs, providing system design flexibility. The PIC series combines Klipsch’s patented horn technology and adjustable drivers to optimize coverage and sound quality, ensuring exceptional audio performance in any setting.
