A Fresh Take on Adore Me's Sustainability Push
Launches accelerator program focused on enhancing sustainability at Adore Me
Looks like lingerie brand Adore Me is stepping up its game when it comes to sustainability! They've just announced the launch of their Sustainability Accelerator, as revealed in a press release sent out earlier this week.
Four startups have been selected for the program's 2023 cohort – Ever Dye, Carbonfact, Commonshare, and Pendulum. After working with Adore Me for the past year and a half, these innovative companies will now embark on a six to twelve-month journey of onboarding, testing, and integration before their technology becomes official within the brand.
This initiative marks a significant step for Adore Me, who has been laying the groundwork for this endeavor for about four years, starting in Paris. According to Morgan Hermand, the founder and CEO of Adore Me, the company is thrilled to serve as the "ideal first big customer" for these startups, helping them grow faster.
Each startup in the program focuses on sustainability tech used at different stages of the development process. For instance, Ever Dye, a French company, has developed a low-heat, low-energy dyeing process, while CarbonFact offers a data platform for designers to integrate carbon impact into the design process.
Adore Me has already seen some impressive results from these collaborations. By utilizing Carbonfact's technology, they've managed to reduce their overall emissions for their upcoming January 2024 collection by a substantial 12%!
Did you know Adore Me was acquired by Victoria's Secret in January as part of a $400 million deal? Although the brand has primarily focused on direct-to-consumer channels, it's been experimenting with wholesale this year through its exclusive Walmart line, Adored by Adore Me, developed in partnership with Gelmart.
