Lecture series "Born Before AI" at Northern Kentucky University begins its second season on April 18

The College of Informatics at Northern Kentucky University (NKU) is set to kick off the second season of its "Born Before AI" lecture series. This exciting event, aimed at post-career individuals but open to all, will take place at the George and Ellen Rieveschl Digitorium in NKU's Griffin Hall.

The series, which is free of charge thanks to the generous support of Ellen Rieveschl, will run on three consecutive Fridays at 3 p.m., starting from April 18.

On April 18, Dr. Kevin Kirby will present "The Core of AI: What it does, How it does it, and Where it's headed." The following week, on April 25, Shannon Eastep will discuss "From Chalkboards to Chatbots: How AI is shaping K-12 learning."

The highlight of the second season, however, is the session on May 2. Entitled "Experiencing AI: A hands-on session introducing a variety of AI tools to those with little to no prior exposure to generative AI," this event promises to be an interactive and engaging experience. The session is guided by NKU faculty and students.

Moreover, the focus of this session will be on new developments in AI over the past year. Dr. Valerie Hardcastle will present on "AI knows better than your mother: The promise of hyper-personalized medicine," while Dr. Robert Brice's presentation is yet to be announced.

For those interested in attending the May 2 session, registration is required. To learn more and to register, visit the NKU website.

The "Born Before AI" lecture series at NKU is a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of AI with humanity. The featured experts for this season include Dr. Kevin Kirby, Dr. Valerie Hardcastle, Shannon Eastep, and Dr. Robert Brice. Don't miss out on this enlightening and engaging series!
