Mediacom Boosts Ad Targeting with CommScope's MDC

Mediacom Communications, a leading US cable network operator, has deployed the CommScope Manifest Delivery Controller (MDC) for IP video. This move reinforces CommScope's leadership in the Pay TV Advertising space and offers new options for optimizing revenue and maintaining high-quality viewing experiences.

The MDC provides Mediacom with a comprehensive Streaming Session Management platform that supports other services, including emergency alerts, bandwidth management, and alternate content. JR Walden, CTO of Mediacom, chose CommScope's MDC for its scalability, reliability, and ability to adapt to Mediacom's existing systems. Ray Bontempi, vice president of product management at CommScope, stated that the MDC gives Mediacom more control over ad targeting and improves the overall viewing experience. This enables Mediacom to offer more individualized advertising, potentially increasing value for customers and increasing advertising revenue with more targeted ads while maintaining high-quality IP video for subscribers.
