Mercedes-Benz India Sales Surge in September 2025 on GST 2.0 Boost

Mercedes-Benz India has reported a remarkable surge in sales, with September 2025 being its best-ever month. The luxury carmaker attributes this success to the recent GST 2.0 reforms, which have made its vehicles more affordable, and an attractive new portfolio that has resonated with customers.

The company's Managing Director and CEO, Santosh Iyer, announced significant price cuts across its entire model range. The S-Class 450 4MATIC witnessed the most substantial reduction. These price adjustments, coupled with the new flat 40 per cent tax rate for luxury cars and large SUVs under GST 2.0, have made Mercedes-Benz vehicles more accessible to customers.

The 'Core Luxury' segment, which accounts for 60 per cent of Mercedes-Benz India's total sales, grew by 10 per cent in the second quarter of FY25-26. The E-Class Long Wheelbase, a popular model in this segment, saw a 47 per cent year-on-year increase in sales. Meanwhile, the AMG G63, despite a waiting period of over six months, achieved its highest-ever monthly sales. The 'Top-End Luxury' category, featuring models like the Mercedes-Maybach, S-Class, GLS, AMG G63, and EQS SUV, also posted its best-ever monthly sales.

From April to September 2025, Mercedes-Benz India sold a total of 9,357 units, marking a 4 per cent year-on-year increase. Notably, the second quarter of FY25-26 saw 5,119 units sold, the company's best-ever quarterly performance. During the 9-day Navratri period, Mercedes-Benz sold over 2,500 units, its highest ever sales during a single festive phase in India.

Mercedes-Benz India's exceptional sales performance in September 2025 reflects the growing demand for luxury vehicles in the country. The GST 2.0 reforms and the company's attractive portfolio have played a significant role in driving this growth. With strong sales across various segments and models, Mercedes-Benz India is well-positioned to maintain its momentum in the coming months.
