Microsoft Hikes Xbox Game Pass PC Price, GameStop Vows to Keep Lower Price

Microsoft has raised the monthly price of Xbox Game Pass PC to $16.49, a 37% increase from the previous $11.99. GameStop has publicly opposed this move, vowing to maintain the old $20 price for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions. GameStop, the sole major retailer committed to preserving the lower price, has expressed its disagreement via social media posts. Meanwhile, Microsoft has started advertising Xbox Game Pass on console startup screens just a day after the price hike. Although other platforms like G2A offer Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions, their pricing varies by region and seller. Notably, GameStop continues to sell Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions at the original $20 price, despite Microsoft's new $30 price point. Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass PC price increase has sparked a response from GameStop, which is maintaining the lower price for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions.
