MTN commemorates International Recognition Week through SIM card enrollment campaign

During the 2022 Global Appreciation Week, telecommunications giant MTN Ghana dedicated its efforts to appreciating customers and reinforcing its commitment to exceptional customer service. This week, traditionally reserved for employees to acknowledge each person's contribution to the company's performance, was marked with a series of interactions aimed at customer satisfaction.

The week initiated with a focus on the brand, transitioning on the second day to a customer-centric approach. MTN staff ventured out to customer homes and offices to conduct SIM registration exercises, thereby offering convenience and resolving issues concurrently. The CEO of MTN also extended personalized messages to customers. The remaining days were earmarked for recognizing exceptional team members and individuals, culminating in a day set aside for community celebration.

Jemima Kotei Walsh, the Chief Customer Services Officer, expressed her gratitude to customers for their support over the years. Emphasizing the importance of customer loyalty, she highlighted the initiative to bring SIM registration exercises to customers' doorsteps, thus ensuring convenience for all customers across the country. Walsh additionally encouraged those yet to register their SIM cards with the Ghana Card to complete the process immediately using USSD 404#, the MTN web portal https://simregistrationportal.mtn.com.gh*, or the SIM Registration Self Service app on Google Play before visiting service centers for biometric capture.

Furthermore, the Customer Appreciation Week was prominently celebrated across all 19 MTN operations. While past events, such as the "Glitz and Glam" Y'ello Soiree, have been organized to reward loyal customers, the company's current focus extends to compliance and restructuring its mobile money arm to meet financial regulations.
