Russia is set to witness a significant digital transformation with the widespread adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents by 2027. This shift is expected to bring about industrial innovation, workforce transformation, and competitive advantage, as predicted by MTS Web Services.

Andrei Rybinets, the Director of Artificial Intelligence at Avito, has announced that their strategy for implementing generative AI aims for a positive return on investment (ROI). MTS Web Services plans to invest around 12 billion rubles in generative AI technologies and generate over 21 billion rubles in revenue from their use by 2028.

The cornerstone of this strategy is the MWS Agent system, a modular and scalable solution designed to transform the customer experience through personalized interaction. The system includes specialized agents for tasks such as code generation, logical reasoning, and web research.

The first product launches using GenAI in 2024 have already secured 670 million rubles in annual revenue. MTS Web Services is currently testing the MWS Agent system for tasks related to data analysis and visualization, website and web application development, working with patent databases, and administrative tasks such as organizing business trips.

The MWS Agent system is expected to be used in sectors beyond those mentioned earlier, such as retail and oil refining. In these industries, AI agents will revolutionize customer personalization, supply chain management, dynamic pricing, and product innovation. For example, AI agents will deliver ultra-personalized shopping and travel experiences, optimize inventory and logistics autonomously, and accelerate trend analysis for faster product launches.

However, these advances will also raise concerns around data privacy, ethical use, and market manipulation, necessitating balanced governance frameworks. As AI agents become more prevalent, investments in data management, cybersecurity, and workforce upskilling will be crucial to handle operational and governance challenges.

By 2027, up to 50% of Russian companies are expected to start using generative AI and AI agents. This shift will require a focus on digital sovereignty, as Russia's AI landscape is likely to align with global trends, such as the push for open, sovereign AI models in Europe and the restrictions on open AI models in the US.

Moreover, by 2027, multimodal generative AI integrating text, images, audio, and video will become mainstream. This advancement will enhance AI agents’ capability to interact and generate diverse content, broadening their applications even further.

In summary, by 2027 in Russia, AI agents will be catalysts of industrial innovation and workforce transformation across consumer retail, manufacturing, services, and public sectors. This transition will be marked by a strong emphasis on ethical governance, data security, and regional digital sovereignty amid global AI competition.

Technology and artificial-intelligence are integral components of the expected digital transformation in Russia by 2027, as predicted by MTS Web Services. MTS Web Services is planning to invest in generative AI technologies, such as the MWS Agent system, which includes agents for tasks like code generation and logical reasoning, with the aim of generating significant revenue by 2028.
