New Appointment: Peter Sanderson Takes on CEO Role at SimCorp

SimCorp, a leading financial technology company, has announced a significant change in leadership. Peter Sanderson, a seasoned financial industry executive, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately.

Sanderson brings a wealth of experience to the role, having spent a decade at BlackRock Investment Management where he held senior positions including Managing Director of Multi-Asset Investment Solutions, Financial Markets Advisory, and was a member of the European Executive Committee. His tenure at BlackRock was marked by key leadership roles and significant initiatives across diverse financial sectors.

Before BlackRock, Sanderson worked at Mondrian Investment Partners, and later at KPMG. His diverse career path has provided him with a broad industry experience and financial expertise that will undoubtedly serve him well in his new role.

Sanderson also served as Group CEO of GAM Investments from 2019 to 2024, where he gained direct experience with SimCorp’s software as a client. This firsthand insight into the platform's strategic role within the industry will be invaluable as he leads SimCorp forward.

Georg Hetrodt, who has been at the helm of SimCorp for over two decades, is retiring at the end of the year. His retirement has been planned and anticipated by the organization, and he is being warmly thanked for his many years of exceptional service. Christian Kromann, on behalf of the Board, leadership, and employees of SimCorp, expressed their gratitude towards Georg Hetrodt for his contributions.

SimCorp is currently experiencing a surge in client interest due to its platform, which offers a real-time view of entire portfolios. Sanderson's experience, deep knowledge of the industry, and track record for growth make him the right next leader for SimCorp. He is confident that he can help propel SimCorp's ambitious objectives, aiming to solidify SimCorp’s position in a post-volatility investment environment.
