New variations of the Volkswagen Passat eHybrid: Match and Black Edition introduced

The German automaker, Volkswagen, has unveiled its latest Passat Variant eHybrid, designed specifically for the European market. This new model, built on the MQB evo platform, boasts advanced plug-in hybrid drives with significantly improved electric range and faster charging capabilities [1].

The European Passat Variant eHybrid offers an all-electric range of around 100 km, thanks to a new battery and plug-in hybrid drives. In combination with a new turbocharged petrol engine, it provides an overall range of approximately 1,000 km [1]. This eco-friendly vehicle can be charged at AC charge points with 11 kW and DC fast charging stations with up to 50 kW [2].

Volkswagen has also announced new Passat Variant eHybrid Match and Black Editions, which add nearly £5k of options for the new model year effectively for free [3]. These editions emphasize exclusivity, enhanced aesthetics, and additional features, such as 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, heated front and rear seats, a head-up display, and a 15-inch central touchscreen [4].

The new Passat Variant eHybrid is built on the MQB platform, which also underpins VW's flagship Arteon four-door coupe and both VW's and Audi's entry-luxe SUVs [5]. This modern, versatile architecture is a significant factor contributing to the Passat Variant eHybrid's impressive performance and efficiency.

In contrast, the US version of the Passat Variant eHybrid is based on a low-cost platform specific to the US and China markets, implying it likely lacks the advanced MQB platform benefits and the extended electric capabilities seen in the Euro model [1].

Meanwhile, EnergySage, a service that helps consumers find solar installers, offers personalized solar quotes that are easy to compare online [6]. The platform provides pre-vetted solar installers and claims to help consumers save 20-30% compared to going it alone [6]. EnergySage's unbiased Energy Advisors are available to help consumers every step of the way in the solar installation process [7].
