Nigeria's Digital Innovation Gets Boost as SCF Reps Join NCDIE
Four representatives from the Startup Consultative Forum (SCF) have been appointed to the National Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NCDIE) for the next two years. This move aims to strengthen Nigeria's digital innovation ecosystem and promote inclusivity.
The selected members include Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, Founding Partner at Future Africa and co-founder of Andela and Flutterwave, Victoria Manya, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Advocacy for Policy and Innovation, Charles Uchenna Emembolu, Founder of TechQuest, and Abba Ibrahim Gamawa, Founder of Go Agent Limited. They will play a crucial role in shaping national innovation policy by ensuring the voices of founders and innovators are directly reflected.
The appointment comes as the Nigeria Startup Act gains momentum. As of May 2025, 75 startups have been labelled through the startup labelling initiative, and a $40 million Startup Investment Seed Fund has been established to address the funding gap for Nigerian startups. The NCDIE aims to effectively implement the objectives of the Nigeria Startup Act through well-aligned policy guidelines and monitoring.
The inclusion of these representatives underscores the commitment to collaboration among government, the private sector, academia, and other stakeholders in driving digital innovation and translating it into measurable economic and social outcomes across Nigeria.
