Nubank Appoints Eric Young as New Chief Technology Officer
Eric Young, a seasoned technology leader with over two decades of experience in major tech companies, has been named the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Nubank, one of the world's largest digital financial services platforms.
Young joins Nubank after serving as Senior Vice President of Engineering at Snap Inc., where he led teams responsible for scaling infrastructure and delivering seamless, mobile-first experiences to hundreds of millions of users worldwide. Before Snap, he spent seven years at Google as Vice President of Engineering, overseeing critical technical infrastructure powering Search, Ads, YouTube, and Google Cloud. He also spent 15 years at Amazon in senior roles focused on scaling enterprise systems across supply chain, fulfillment, personalization, and pricing.
At Nubank, Young will report directly to David Vélez, the founder and CEO, and focus on operational excellence, international expansion, and advancing AI technologies to accelerate growth. Technology will continue to be the key differentiator and engine in Nubank's business model.
Vitor Olivier, one of Nubank's earliest employees and the outgoing CTO, is departing after more than ten years of service to pursue a new entrepreneurial endeavor. Olivier's bond and appreciation for Nubank and his colleagues will endure. He is grateful for the mentorship and trust he received from David Vélez throughout the years. Olivier's transition from Nubank was planned with the company's support.
Nubank's new CTO, Eric Young, brings a wealth of experience with global technology platforms to his role. He looks forward to evolving Nubank's stack as the company advances its goals in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and beyond.
