Two New Android Tablets Join the Indian Stock Market: Infibeam's Phi and Olive Telecom's OlivePad

India's tech stock market is seeing a surge with the introduction of two new Android tablets - the Phi from Infibeam and the OlivePad from Olive Telecom.

The OlivePad, which was one of the first 3G tablets in India, boasts a 7-inch WVGA capacitive touch screen, a 3MP rear-facing auto-focusing camera with 4x zoom, and a VGA front-facing webcam. It also supports 802.11 b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, quad-band GSM, and tri-band WCDMA. Powered by a 600MHz Qualcomm M7227 processor with 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM, the OlivePad offers a smooth user experience. It also comes with additional features like a compass, G-sensor, ambient light sensor, and dual speakers. The OlivePad will be available in August for approximately US$426 to US$533, with future plans to expand to Central and Eastern Europe and Russia.

On the other hand, the Phi from Infibeam is the latest Android tablet to be announced in India, running on the latest Android 2.2 Froyo. However, no further details about the Phi, such as screen size, processor, memory, or connectivity features, have been disclosed. It is worth noting that the Phi is the only other tablet in India, apart from the OlivePad, to run the Android OS.

Unlike the OlivePad, the Phi has not been mentioned to have any additional features like the OlivePad's compass, G-sensor, ambient light sensor, or dual speakers. Moreover, no information is available on the Phi's camera specifications, such as the number of megapixels or zoom capabilities. Additionally, no information is available on whether the Phi can make and receive phone calls, send or receive SMS messages, or function as an e-reader like the OlivePad.

The company that planned to market the Phi in Central and Eastern Europe as well as Russia is Artpol, known for cooperating with the producer to distribute this tablet in those regions. However, there is no information on the availability or pricing of the Phi, or whether it will be expanded to other regions like the OlivePad.

In conclusion, the Indian tech stock market is witnessing an exciting development with the introduction of these two Android tablets. While the OlivePad offers a comprehensive package with its features and connectivity options, the Phi's potential remains to be seen, given the lack of detailed information available at present.
