Battlefield 6 Open Beta Breaks Records and Sets the Stage for October Release

The highly anticipated open beta for Battlefield 6 is currently live and creating waves in the gaming community. Last weekend, the beta set a record with over half a million players simultaneously, surpassing the previous record set during the early access period from 7-8 August.

This open beta, available to all players, offers a taste of the action-packed gameplay that Battlefield 6 promises. The beta is available for 96 hours starting now and will close again on 18 August.

Set in the year 2027, Battlefield 6 takes players to a world where major European countries have left NATO to join a new alliance called Pax Armata. This shift leaves the US and its remaining allies to deal with the fallout, creating a tense and exciting narrative.

The game is harking back to its roots, drawing comparisons to previous games like Battlefield 3, Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 4. Nine playable maps will be available at the launch, spanning diverse locations such as Brooklyn, Egypt, Gibraltar, and Tajikistan. These maps will be used in modes such as Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, King of the Hill, and Escalation.

In addition to the main gameplay, Battlefield 6 also features Portal, a return from previous games that allows players to create their own maps using in-game editing tools.

While there is no early access for the Battlefield 6 open beta this time, Battlefield Labs, EA's extensive playtesting programme, could start up again ahead of the game's full release on 10 October. After the initial two weekend beta windows, players will need to wait until the official game release to play again.

With its record-breaking open beta and promising gameplay, Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be a game worth waiting for. The final game is set to launch on 10 October, so mark your calendars and get ready for an exhilarating gaming experience.
