Pleasant Valley Solar 2 Project Set to Power Northwest in 2026
The Silicon Valley Bank-backed Pleasant Valley Solar 2 project, a 125 MW solar energy venture, is set to commence operations in the early summer of 2026. This significant solar project is seen as a key solution to meet the growing electricity demand in the northwestern United States.
The project, financially backed by Truist Bank since 2025, is being developed by rPlus Energies. It will utilise Ingeteam inverters and feature Thornova Solar PV modules mounted on Nextracker single-axis trackers. Sundt Renewables is overseeing the engineering, procurement, and construction.
Land has been secured and permitted for future battery-based storage, ensuring the project's longevity and adaptability. Notably, the Pleasant Valley Solar 2 project will complement Meta's data center in Idaho, which opened in 2025, further bolstering the region's renewable energy infrastructure. The demand for reliable solar power is surging, driven by high-tech manufacturing projects like Micron's $15 billion plant in Ada County.
The Pleasant Valley Solar 2 project, with its strategic location and forward-thinking design, is poised to meet the increasing demand for clean energy in the region. With $100 million in tax equity funding secured from Truist Bank, the project is well-positioned to contribute to the northwestern United States' renewable energy goals.
