POWERGRID Wins Rs 705.51 Crore Inter-Regional Transmission Project

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID) has secured a significant Letter of Intent (LoI) for a major inter-regional transmission project. The project, worth Rs 705.51 crore, is set to bolster grid operations and disaster readiness across the country.

On September 29, 2025, POWERGRID received the LoI for the 'Inter-Regional Strengthening between SR Grid and WR Grid' project. This project involves constructing 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines across Karnataka and Maharashtra, along with necessary line bays at both ends. The successful bidder status was announced following a competitive process.

In addition to this project, POWERGRID has also been awarded two other significant infrastructure projects. The first, worth Rs 209.68 crore, entails establishing a Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) system across all five regional grids in India. The second project, valued at Rs 495.83 crore, involves procuring 20 sets of Emergency Restoration System (ERS) under the Make in India initiative.

The completion of these projects is expected to enhance the reliability and efficiency of India's power grid. POWERGRID's shares have been trading flat after touching a day's high of Rs 282.85, reflecting investor confidence in the company's prospects.
