Tesla Introduces Six-Seater Model Y L in China

In a significant move, Tesla has expanded its Model Y lineup in China with the introduction of the Model Y Long Range (L). This new six-seater version is now available for purchase in Chinese showrooms.

The Model Y L, priced around $47,000, offers an interior layout of "2+2+2": two front seats, two separate rear seats, and two additional seats at the very back. The second row of seats comes with heated seats, ventilation, and electric armrests, providing a comfortable ride for passengers.

However, the third row of seats in the Model Y L has received criticism. Journalists at EV Insights, a well-known group in the electric vehicle industry, tested the new model and described the third-row seats as "a punishment rather than comfort".

Despite the criticism, the Model Y L has set a record with an autonomous drive. It features all-wheel drive, adjustable suspension, a range of up to 751 kilometers, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds.

The World of Chinese Cars, a special project, provides information about brands, manufacturers, and producers of cars in China. The website offers help in correctly pronouncing Chinese car brand names and uses automatic geolocation to identify comment authors. To access the website, users are required to enter their email and password, with the password needing to be at least 6 characters long.

As the Model Y L reaches China, some passengers aren't pleased with the third row seating. However, Tesla continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle technology, offering a six-seater option for the first time in China with the Model Y L.
