Raxio & Laser Light Africa Join Forces to Revolutionize Digital Infrastructure in 7 African Markets
Raxio Group and Laser Light Africa have joined forces to revolutionise digital infrastructure in seven high-growth African markets. The partnership, led by Derek Friend, President and CEO of Laser Light Africa, aims to deliver advanced digital access, starting with Angola in 2026.
The first phase of the rollout will commence in Angola, with Raxio's newest data centre in Luanda serving as the anchor. This state-of-the-art Tier III carrier-neutral facility will be coupled with Laser Light's cutting-edge optical network, creating a powerful combination.
The project promises to create new jobs in various sectors, including construction, operations, and advanced network management. It will also foster local expertise in Tier III data centre operations, peering, and optical technologies. The partnership will focus on integrating infrastructure, expanding interconnectivity, enabling the edge, and ensuring regulatory alignment to achieve these goals.
Through this partnership, Raxio Group and Laser Light Africa aim to reduce latency, increase reliability, lower costs, improve security, and advance sustainability by localising data. The project's first phase in Angola in 2026 marks the beginning of this transformative journey across seven African markets.
