Reduced Model Y prices by up to $11,000 announced by Tesla for its inventory
In an effort to make electric vehicles (EVs) more accessible, Tesla has announced a series of discounts for its Model Y lineup in Australia. The refreshed 2025 Model Y is now available with attractive price reductions, making it an appealing choice for environmentally-conscious consumers.
The starting price for the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant is AU$63,400, while the Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant starts at AU$73,400, both before on-road costs. Although these prices represent a slight increase over the 2024 models due to the launch series edition upgrades, several incentives have been introduced to offset the cost.
Current offers include a cashback offer of AU$2,000, valid until June 30, 2025, and an additional AU$2,000 gift card or trade-in bonus on certain models. Furthermore, Tesla is offering an extra AU$2,000 off for new or demo Model Ys purchased by September 30, 2025, as part of ongoing sales incentives to sustain the momentum from refreshed Model Y deliveries.
These incentives provide meaningful discounts on the refreshed Model Y lineup in Australia, despite the price increase for the 2025 models. The cashback and trade-in offers could effectively reduce the purchase price by up to AU$4,000 when combined.
Interestingly, Tesla has been lowering prices over the years to make its EVs more affordable, following the trend set by other automakers. In Canada, Tesla recently lowered the prices of its Model Y by CAD$20,000 to avoid tariffs on its US-built vehicles.
Meanwhile, in Queensland, the driveaway price for the Long Range Model Y variant starts around AU$67,900, while in New South Wales, prices start at under AU$66,150 driveaway. Model Y Performance stock is available in several states and territories with prices hovering around AU$80,000 driveaway.
The newly refreshed single-motor Model Y starts at just under AU$65,000 drive-away in Victoria. Notably, the cheapest Model Y Performance price since its unveiling in 2022 is now available, bringing an over AU$20,000 savings.
