Reduced prices for Tesla Model 3 variants apart from the one with maximum range
The electric vehicle market in Europe is seeing some exciting changes, with Tesla leading the charge. The American automaker has announced several updates to its Model 3 lineup, including price reductions and the addition of a new variant.
Firstly, the top-tier Model 3 Performance, introduced as the Highland refresh's crown jewel in April, retains its elevated level, priced at €58,490. Contrary to expectations, the Model 3 Performance's price has not been adjusted.
Tesla has also made some significant price cuts on other Model 3 variants. The smallest Model 3 variant, previously priced at €42,490, has been further reduced to €39,990. The mid-range Model 3 with a large battery and all-wheel drive (LR AWD) now costs €49,990, a decrease of €1,500. Moreover, the price of the Model 3 RWD variant was reduced again by €2,500 on Tuesday.
In addition to these price adjustments, Tesla has expanded the Model 3 selection in Europe with the introduction of the LR RWD variant. Priced at €44,990, this new addition is claimed to be the most efficient Tesla ever built, boasting a certified WLTP range of 702 kilometers. The LR RWD Model 3 surpasses the range of the Model S, with a range of 634 kilometers.
Negotiations between the EU and China over potential tariffs on Tesla's electric vehicles are still ongoing. However, it appears that the tariffs on Tesla's electric vehicles, initially set at 21%, may be lower than initially feared, with a rate of 7.8% based on individual calculations.
New Tesla customers can currently receive a €1,000 discount on Model 3 and other models using a referral code. This discount is in addition to the price reductions mentioned above.
It's worth noting that the negotiations to reduce these tariffs involved the United States government, particularly under the Trump administration. Discussions around tariff impositions referenced the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) and subsequent legal and political considerations in the US. However, no specific EU organization or government was explicitly named in the results provided.
Lastly, Tesla has officially renamed the Model 3 RWD variant to 'Rear-Wheel Drive'. In tests, the latest version of the Tesla Model 3 achieved up to 729 WLTP kilometers, further solidifying its position as a leading electric vehicle in the European market.
These updates and price reductions are a testament to Tesla's commitment to making electric vehicles more accessible and affordable for a wider audience. As the negotiations between the EU and China continue, we can expect more exciting developments in the world of electric vehicles.
