Remaining in Good Working Condition: iPhone Air Continues to Function Efficiently
In a recent launch, Apple has introduced a new addition to its iPhone lineup - the iPhone Air. This sleek device, priced at 1,199 euros, has been designed to offer a unique blend of style and performance.
Unlike the Pro models of the 17 series, the iPhone Air sports a frame made of titanium, contributing to its slim feel and a thickness of just 5.64 millimeters. This makes it significantly thinner than the standard iPhone 17 model (7.95 millimeters). The iPhone Air's battery fills almost the entire housing due to the placement of the chip systems in the camera hump at the top of the housing, known as the "Plateau."
The iPhone Air's camera system is capable of taking standard wide-angle shots and offers a 2x zoom in "optical quality." However, it lacks an ultra-wide-angle camera, a feature that is present in the higher-end Pro models.
The battery life of the iPhone Air, after several days of everyday use, has been found to be perfectly fine. Apple claims that the iPhone Air provides "all-day" battery life, with a benchmark of 27 hours of video playback, similar to the iPhone 16 Pro.
The iPhone Air uses exclusively in-house developed semiconductors for mobile network and Bluetooth connection, ensuring seamless connectivity.
In terms of display, the iPhone Air has a display reminiscent of past years, while the iPhone 17 Pro boasts a better XDR display with a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
The iPhone 17 Pro stands out with its advanced features. It sports an 8x zoom in "optical quality" with the telephoto lens, and the third generation of AirPods Pro comes with a heart rate sensor and better noise cancellation.
The starting prices for the iPhone 17, Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max are 949 euros, 1,199 euros, 1,299 euros, and 1,449 euros respectively for the 256 GB storage version. The iPhone 17 Pro's housing is made of aluminum, which conducts heat 20 times better than the previously used titanium alloy.
A new accessory for the new iPhones is a crossbody strap for hanging the phone. The leather alternative for the crossbody strap is made from recycled polyester with a finer texture.
Initial impressions from everyday use suggest that the iPhone Air's narrow frame is stable and does not bend easily. The iPhone Air's design and features make it an attractive option for those seeking a balance between style, performance, and affordability.
