Danny Lee, a seasoned brand and marketing leader with over two decades of experience across Greater China, the UK, and the Asia-Pacific region, has been appointed as the Managing Director of Monks Greater China. This move is part of Monks' ongoing commitment to investing in top-tier talent and delivering long-term client value.

Lee brings a wealth of expertise to Monks, having held senior roles at major global brands and agencies, including Nike Greater China, Bosideng, and WPP Group agencies such as Ogilvy, Wunderman, and Mindshare. His work spans integrated communications, brand evolution, digital transformation, and market expansion.

At Nike Greater China, Lee served as Marketing Director, leading multi-category brand management and market-defining campaigns that reinforced Nike’s leadership in the region. His tenure at Bosideng saw him help modernize this iconic Chinese apparel brand through brand transformation and global repositioning. At WPP agencies, he advised Fortune 500 clients on digital transformation and brand innovation.

In his new role, Lee will be responsible for elevating creative innovation, deepening client partnerships, and leveraging AI and technology. The integration of businesses at Monks will be in two synchronised practices: Marketing services and Technology services.

Monks is a tech-led, digital advertising, marketing, and technology services company, established by Sir Martin Sorrell in May 2018. The company, which currently has approximately 7,000 people in 33 countries, continues to deepen its investment in the Greater China market as part of its global strategy to help brands succeed in a fast-evolving digital economy.

Lee will work closely with Dixi Chern, General Manager of Monks Shanghai, to drive the growth of Monks Greater China. The long-term objective for the practices is a split of 50%:25%:25%. Currently, content accounts for approximately 60% of the company's net revenue, Data&Digital Media for 24%, and Technology Services for 16%.

Kenny Griffiths, EVP of Monks APAC, recognizes Lee's appointment as a significant step forward for the company. "Danny's appointment is a testament to our commitment to attracting and retaining the best talent in the industry," Griffiths said. "We are excited to have him lead our Greater China operations and help us forge ahead in one of the world's most vibrant and fast-evolving markets."

Sir Martin Sorrell, the CEO of WPP for 33 years and the founder of S4Capital, built WPP into the world's largest advertising and marketing services company before establishing S4Capital. The company's strategy is to build a purely digital advertising and marketing services business for various clients and influencer brands.

With Lee at the helm, Monks Greater China is poised to make significant strides in the region, leveraging his extensive experience and strategic leadership to drive growth and creative innovation.
