Smart #3 Electric SUV Launches in Australia with Impressive Range and Tech
Smart, a subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, has introduced its mid-sized electric SUV, the #3, to the Australian market in 2024. The #3 is available in two variants, Pro+ and Premium, with the latter boasting an impressive array of features.
The Smart #3 comes with a 66 kWh NCM battery pack, offering up to 455 km of WLTP range. In real-world testing, the #3 achieved close to 400 km on a single charge. Charging is convenient with DC speeds of up to 150 kW and 22 kW AC charging.
The Premium variant, priced at $61,900 plus on-roads, comes packed with luxury and tech features. It offers a 360-degree camera system for easy parking, a 12.8-inch infotainment screen, and a 10-inch head-up display. The #3 Premium also boasts a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 5.4 seconds, thanks to its single RWD electric motor delivering up to 200 kW of power and 343 Nm in torque.
The Smart #3, introduced alongside the #1 model in Australia in August 2024, offers a compelling blend of range, performance, and technology. With its premium features and competitive pricing, the #3 is set to make a mark in the Australian electric SUV market.
