The Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) and financial services advisory firm SRM have announced a strategic partnership that grants CCUA member credit unions preferred access to SRM's comprehensive advisory solutions portfolio.

Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, SRM specializes in payments, sourcing, operating strategies, and technology. The company, which made its platform debut at FinovateFall 2023 in New York, has been actively involved in fintech innovation since then.

The collaboration between CCUA and SRM is rooted in a common goal: driving meaningful results for credit unions through insight-led advisory and technology solutions. SRM's expertise and advisory support aim to unlock new opportunities in payments, sourcing, technology, and member experience for CCUA's member credit unions.

The strategic partnership offers several key benefits for CCUA member credit unions:

  1. Sourcing Advisory: Analysis, benchmarking, vendor selection, RFP management, contract negotiations, and strategic sourcing plans to optimize purchasing and vendor relationships.
  2. Payments Advisory: Services in commercial, consumer, and instant payments; credit/debit card portfolio optimization; fraud prevention; product development; and market expansion, improving payment operations and member experience.
  3. Corporate Advisory: Assistance in strategic planning, digital strategy, mergers & acquisitions, AI enablement, organizational design, compliance and risk management, policy development, research, and analytics to help credit unions navigate industry changes and growth opportunities.
  4. Technology Advisory: Guidance on core processing, digital banking strategy, technology migration and integration, project management, and expert staff augmentation to support technology upgrades and digital transformation.

As part of the strategic partnership, SRM will facilitate seasonal roundtables for CCUA's member organizations. SRM's Chief Growth Officer, Stephen Johnston, stated that the collaboration aims to unlock new opportunities in payments, sourcing, technology, and member experience for CCUA's member credit unions.

The partnership also grants CCUA member credit unions access to SRM's complete portfolio of advisory solutions for sourcing and payments, as well as for corporate and technology strategy. SRM offers SRM Boost Programs that provide a strategic growth platform for onboarding new members, cross-selling, and card optimization.

Serving clients ranging in size from credit unions and community banks to international financial services firms, SRM has returned more than $10 billion in value to over 1,000 clients since its inception in 1992. Combined, the Association's member credit unions manage more than $75 billion in assets and serve more than five million members.

This partnership strengthens the credit unions’ ability to address evolving member expectations, reduce costs, mitigate risks, and enhance innovation through personalized advisory services from a firm with established experience in payments and financial services advisory.

SRM will be featured at CCUA events to help credit union leaders engage with SRM's team of experts, further cementing the partnership's potential to drive meaningful results for credit unions across the CCUA network.
