Starrag Launches Heckert X80: Versatile 5-Axis Machining Centre
Starrag has launched the Heckert X80, a versatile 5-axis machining centre. It offers tool change systems for both lightweight and heavy-duty tools, with magazine options for up to 440 HSK-100 tools. The X80 provides high-dynamic machining with a traverse rate of 65 m/min and swift changeover times of 21 seconds for pallets and 8 seconds for tools.
The Heckert X80 features a workpiece-side swivel unit, enabling high-dynamic 5-axis machining. It accommodates workpieces up to 1200 mm in diameter, 1000 mm in height, and 1200 kg in weight. The machine is compatible with Starrag's automation solutions, including Fastems FPT round pallet store systems and robotic cells.
The X80 comes with a 24-inch touchscreen HMI, Siemens Sinumerik One control system, and efficient chip management with an internal coolant supply operating at pressures up to 80 bar. It offers various spindle options, including 12,500 rpm hollow shaft spindles and 15,000 rpm motor spindles. Turning technology is available as an option, enabling both classic and complex turning operations with machining centre productivity levels.
Compared to its predecessor, the X80 offers X, Y, and Z axis travel of 1450 by 1300 by 1300 mm within a compact footprint, requiring 18% less space. It succeeds the HEC 630 X5 and HEC 800 X5, and is part of Starrag's expanded X-series lineup, launched in April 2025.
The Heckert X80 is a powerful addition to Starrag's machining centre portfolio. With its high-dynamic machining capabilities, compatibility with automation solutions, and compact footprint, it caters to a wide range of applications and larger workpieces. The X80's versatile tool change systems, efficient chip management, and various spindle options make it a robust and productive choice for manufacturing needs.
