Stryker boosts its research and development presence in India through a new establishment in Bangalore
Under an arrangement with Business Wire India, The Tribune reports on Stryker's latest expansion in India. The global medical technology leader, renowned for its innovation in MedSurg, Neurotechnology, and Orthopaedics, has announced the opening of a new R&D facility in Whitefield, Bengaluru.
The new facility, spanning 140,000 square feet, is an addition to Stryker's existing 220,000 square-foot R&D campus in Gurgaon. This expansion reflects Stryker's continued commitment towards India's dynamic ecosystem of research excellence, medical technology innovation, and deep talent expertise.
The facility will house cross-functional teams and industry-leading lab infrastructure, focusing on robotics, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and product security. The aim is to attract top talent, foster excellence, and drive sustained growth, with a strong focus on Digital and AI technologies.
John Collings, Senior Vice President and General Manager responsible for the new R&D building in Bangalore, and Ram Rangarajan, Vice President of Stryker Global Technology Center, attended the opening ceremony. In his statement, Ram Rangarajan highlighted the facility's potential for closer collaboration with healthcare professionals, unlocking valuable insights, and accelerating innovation.
The new facility will also feature a medical experience center, showcasing solutions for ICU beds, stretchers, ambulance cots, hospital and public-access AEDs (automated external defibrillators). This center is part of Stryker's mission to make healthcare better, impacting over 150 million patients annually.
