TES & 'K' LINE Partner for Net-Zero Emissions in Maritime Sector by 2050
Tree Energy Solutions (TES) and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. ('K' LINE) have joined forces to drive the maritime sector towards net-zero emissions by 2050. The partnership aims to produce e-NG, a cleaner fuel derived from green hydrogen, for 'K' LINE's bunkering needs in Europe.
TES, a specialist in e-NG production, has a global portfolio of projects, while 'K' LINE plans to transition its vessels to cleaner fuels like hydrogen and e-NG by 2030. Both parties will explore regulatory frameworks and consider commercial and technical collaborations, including the operation and management of e-NG and Liquified CO2 carriers.
Marco Alverá, CEO and Co-Founder of TES, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating it will pioneer cleaner and more efficient maritime operations worldwide. Satoshi Kanamori, Managing Executive Officer of 'K' LINE, echoed this commitment, aiming to realize a carbon-neutral future for maritime transport.
While the partner organization alongside TES for sustainable ship operation solutions is not explicitly named, both TES and 'K' LINE are committed to accelerating cleaner fuel adoption in the maritime transport sector. Their collaboration on e-NG production and bunkering is a significant step towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
