Tesla Announces Expanded Fleet Services and New Features for Second Half of 2025

Tesla is set to unveil a series of new features and special lease terms for fleet customers in the second half of 2025, as the company looks to expand its presence in the fleet market.

One of the key announcements is the expansion of Tesla’s robotaxi service, which will allow owners to add their personal Tesla vehicles into the robotaxi network starting in 2026. This move represents a major expansion of Tesla’s robotaxi service, currently deployed in Austin and the Bay Area, where the company operates autonomous ride-hailing fleets.

Tesla is also working to expand its autonomous fleet to over 100 vehicles in the Bay Area, aiming to make Tesla autonomous ride-hailing rides accessible to a broader customer base. The Bay Area pilot features a significant geofence and operates with safety drivers currently, but plans for rapid fleet growth are underway in parallel to Austin’s robotaxi pilot expansion.

In addition to these expansion plans, Tesla has announced a “step change” update to its Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities in 2025. This update includes up to a 10x increase in neural network parameters, enhancing edge case performance and more human-like driving behavior. It also aims to reduce the so-called “nag,” allowing users to look away from the road longer without disengaging FSD.

Tesla is also offering special conditions for fleet customers, which require a framework agreement but not a fixed minimum order. These conditions will allow fleet managers to order vehicles as needed in 2026 under the framework agreement.

To support fleet customers, Tesla will provide a team of account managers and operations specialists for fleets of 25 vehicles or more. This team will assist in obtaining offers from leasing companies and are familiar with the specific delivery and after-sales processes.

The agreement offers a wide range of benefits for companies and their company car drivers, including EV experience days, on-site test events, special meetings on electromobility, and free access to the "Tesla for Business" portal. The portal allows for the viewing of vehicle, charging, and workshop statistics, and dedicated contacts at Tesla will be available for fleet managers with large enough fleets.

Tesla has identified the fleet market as a potential lever to boost sales in the second half of the year, and the company is offering special lease terms in collaboration with selected leasing companies. These lease terms will include options for maintenance/service or insurance packages.

In other news, Tesla’s sales in Europe have significantly decreased compared to last year, and the company has recently shifted the production of the Model Y in the first quarter and has since ramped up production. The Model Y was recently tested in the Juniper test drive report.

In Germany, Tesla has seen a 58.2% decrease in new registrations compared to the same period last year, with 6,305 Model Y vehicles accounting for 9th place in Germany’s model statistics.

Overall, Tesla’s announcements for the second half of 2025 demonstrate the company’s commitment to expanding its fleet services and autonomous capabilities, as well as offering special conditions to fleet customers. As the company continues to innovate and grow, it remains to be seen how these announcements will impact Tesla’s sales and market position in the coming months.
