Ready to dive into the world of TaylorMade's P-Series irons? These bad boys have been garnering quite the buzz in the golf community!

Let me spill the tea on these bad babies and help you find the perfect P-Series iron for your game. The assortment includes the P790, P770, P7CB, and freakin' P7TW – the players' dream.

Looks

TaylorMade came through with sleek design improvements for the P-Series range. The brand focused on refining every nook and cranny of the clubhead, so each model feels unique to the rest of the family.

The P790 got a swanky makeover, with a thinner topline compared to previous versions. The hosel-to-topline transition has also been streamlined, making the ball look like it's just sitting pretty at address. Both the P790 and P770 flaunt a premium-looking brushed steel finish for that cohesive, luxurious look.

Speaking of the P770, this littl'un settles neatly between the P790 and P7CB, offering a shorter blade length and a thinner topline. Its subtle aesthetic disguises the tech-heavy tricks hiding within.

I'm a little biased towards the P7CB 'cause it's my go-to iron, but I gotta say, I think it's one of the sexiest irons out there right now. From the bag view, the back cavity has a stunning topography with an embossed logo and intricate details that hark back to TaylorMade's legendary heritage irons. From the playing position, they frame the ball beautifully at address, making me genuinely love each individual iron profile.

Tiger's P7TW earns the title of beauty queen in the P-Series family. Designed for the main man Tiger Woods himself, this iron is nothing short of a marvel, both in the bag and on the course. The high-gloss chrome finish screams "look at me" from the bag, and the shaping of the heads is seriously eye-catching.

Tiger's got a preference for slightly angular, boxed-off toe shaping for his irons, and the P7TW has got him covered. It also boasts a slightly longer blade length compared to other blades, making it a tempting choice for those hunting for more distance.

Feel

While the P-Series family may be easy on the eyes, they truly shine when it comes to feel. Thanks to some clever engineering, these irons offer a unique connection to the ball that is sure to elevate your game.

For instance, Tiger wouldn't give the go-ahead for the P7TW design until TaylorMade added tungsten billets internally, right behind the sweet spot of the irons. While they felt great already, this tungsten adds an extra depth to the P7TW, giving you a more connected feel than any other blade I've tried.

The P7CB has borrowed a little something from the P7TW's bag of tricks. Most of the head is a single piece of compact forged steel that's been smooshed at twice the usual pressure to create two pockets. TaylorMade then fills those pockets with tungsten and a new metal matrix composite material. This allows weight to be taken away and redistributed around the head for improved perimeter weighting and CG positioning. The result is a winning combo of solidness and softness that makes this iron irresistible.

If you compare the P770 and P790, you'll find they feel pretty similar - no surprise when you consider that the design principles of a hollow body and SpeedFoam Air are present in both. Offering a more lively feel than the P7TW and P7CB, these irons give you a sensation of power and speed from each whack. A personal highlight of both the P770 and P790 is the improvement in turf interaction, which goes a long way in determining high-quality feel.

Performance

Let's compare the 6-iron from each set to see what they're really made of. We built all four to the exact same specifications for a fair fight – same length, lie angle, shaft, swing weight, but we left each at its standard factory loft. The P7TW's 6-iron rocks a 31-degree loft, while the P7CB and P770 share the same 29-degree loft and the P790 breaks the mold with a 26.5-degree loft.

The rebellious P790 topped the distance chart by a respectable 8 yards over the P770 model. Interestingly, despite its lower launch and spin, the P790 managed a higher peak height thanks to a significant boost in ball speed.

Forgiveness across the face was the MVP of the P790, kindly taking the sting out of uninspired shots with a solid ball speed retention and a manageable left-to-right dispersion.

The P7CB and P770 were surprisingly close prospects, a pleasant surprise since they share the same base loft. The P770 offered a slightly more lively feel and peaked out a bit higher than the P7CB, while those seeking a more traditional feel will likely be drawn to the P7CB model, as it delivers a satisfying thud at impact.

Tiger's P7TW is a champion among champions, with a stunning performance to match its exquisite looks. This baby dishes out the highest launch and spin, leading to a healthy peak height and some serious stopping power upon landing. Those on the hunt for forgiveness will have to look elsewhere, as the P7TW demands precise strikes to get the most out of its awesomeness.

The P-Series from TaylorMade is quite possibly the most comprehensive iron family in golf, offering something for every preference and skill level. Whether it's distance and forgiveness or control and workability, the P-Series has got you covered. And with the visuals crossing over beautifully, you can easily mix and match for the best combo that fits like a glove!

The P790's redesign, with its thinner topline and streamlined hosel-to-topline transition, showcases the integration of technology in today's sports, making it a gadget that elevates your golf game. While TaylorMade's P-Series irons, including the P790, P770, P7CB, and Tiger Woods' P7TW, are stylish, their true strength lies in their performance, offering a unique connection with the ball and exceptional forgiveness for improved performance on the golf course.
