Toyota Launches Hilux Champ Super SWB: Shorter, Affordable Workhorse
Toyota has introduced the Hilux Champ Super SWB, a shorter version of the popular Hilux, in Thailand. This new model is designed for better maneuverability and affordability, with a starting price of 615,000 baht ($19,000).
The Hilux Champ Super SWB comes with a reduced wheelbase of 2580 mm, down from the standard Hilux's 3080 mm, making it 450 mm shorter. This results in an overall length of 4.5 meters, with the cargo bed measuring 1867 mm long. Despite its compact size, the pickup maintains a turning diameter of 9.4 meters, ensuring easy maneuverability.
Powering the Hilux Champ Super SWB is a 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine that generates 150 horsepower. This engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle is only available with rear-wheel drive, reflecting its rugged, workhorse nature. The exterior features added black protective door trim, while the interior boasts black-orange upholstery, air conditioning, power mirrors, and power windows.
The Toyota Hilux Champ Super SWB is not only available in Thailand but also in the broader ASEAN market region. Its shorter length, compact size, and powerful engine make it a versatile and affordable option for both personal and commercial use. With a starting price of 615,000 baht, it offers great value for money.
