TCL Unveils New TV Models with Revolutionary Dolby Atmos FlexConnect

In a move to revolutionize home audio systems, TCL has introduced the Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology with its 2025 Z100 Wireless Home Theater Speaker System. This groundbreaking technology simplifies and enhances the setup and experience of Dolby Atmos immersive sound at home, allowing speakers to be placed virtually anywhere in a room without strict placement requirements.

The technology works by automatically detecting and optimizing the spatial sound based on the actual speaker locations. In TCL's 2025 TVs, especially the premium QD-Mini LED models, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect collaborates with the TV’s built-in Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision capabilities. When users turn on the connected wireless Z100 speakers, the TV runs a fast tuning process using audio beeps to identify each speaker’s location. Then, Dolby Atmos dynamically adjusts the sound output so that audio cues like planes, explosions, or dialogue appear to come from the right place in the room according to the speaker layout—even if speakers aren’t placed in conventional spots.

This technology removes complicated setup steps and constraints that typically come with multi-speaker Atmos systems, giving users much greater flexibility in speaker positioning without sacrificing sound immersion. It creates a spatial, three-dimensional audio experience optimized for the user’s unique room and configuration, making home theater audio more accessible and customizable.

The TCL 2025 TV range includes new models such as the TCL C6K, C7K, and C8K. The TCL C6K features a 2.1-channel 40W Onkyo sound system and comes in sizes that match the C7K. However, it lacks the B&O sound system of the C7K and has a lower max brightness (1000 nits) compared to the C7K. The TCL C7K, on the other hand, is a more affordable take on the C8K, with fewer dimming zones, less brightness, and a CrystGlow HVA LCD screen. The pricing for the TCL C6K starts at £799 for the 55-inch model and goes up to £3199 for the 98-incher, while the TCL C7K pricing starts at £799 for the 50-inch model.

Some models in the range also support Dolby Atmos FlexConnect for the first time, allowing for versatility in home cinema speaker placement. The new range includes Mini LED TVs with high refresh rates and comprehensive HDR support. The TCL C8K model, for instance, has a refresh rate of 144Hz at 4K, rising to 288Hz at 1080p HD, and features a sound system by Bang & Olufsen.

Initial testing has been positive, with the TCL C8K and C7K models receiving five stars. The TCL C6K, despite its lower max brightness and fewer dimming zones (512), is still a strong contender in the market. It's worth noting that the TCL C6K does not have a 50-inch or 115-inch variant.

With the introduction of Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, TCL’s 2025 TVs paired with the Z100 speaker lineup are the first in the U.S. market to feature this technology and represent a new category in home audio systems beyond traditional soundbars. This move by TCL is set to redefine the home entertainment experience, making it more immersive, flexible, and accessible.
