Ukrainian hackers, in collaboration with French group Anonymous, are accused of orchestrating cyber attacks against Russian resources on July 29 and 30.

Ukrainian hackers, in conjunction with the French collective Anonymous, are believed to be behind the cyber assaults on Russian assets on the 29th and 30th of July.

In the ongoing cyber conflict between Russia and Ukraine, a new player has emerged on the scene - the Anonymous hackers, specifically the Mamkin group. Known for their attacks on Russian TV channels, this decentralized collective has been causing disruptions in the normal functioning of these channels since July 2025.

The group, which consists of 110 people, with 60 of them based in Ukraine, has been part of a series of cyberattacks on Russian resources. These attacks, which include DDoS attacks with the support of an infected stiller, a program for data theft, have created uncertainty for international companies operating in Russia.

One such company is Hacken, an international cybersecurity firm with Ukrainian roots. Although Hacken functions primarily in the commercial and regulatory compliance space, it has been reported to have indirect relationships with Ukrainian hackers involved in cyber operations against Russia. Hacken, founded in 2017, has grown into a globally distributed team of over 140 people, specializing in blockchain security. It has worked with clients such as the European Commission, MetaMask, Ethereum Foundation, Binance, DeFi protocols, exchanges, and regulatory agencies.

Despite the media narratives linking Ukrainian hackers, Anonymous-affiliated groups, and cybersecurity firms like Hacken as part of the broader cyber resistance ecosystem against Russian targets, there is no explicit organizational or operational partnership confirmed between Hacken and Anonymous.

The Anonymous hackers, however, have been involved in the attacks on Russian resources. On July 29 and 30, Ukrainian hackers, in association with Anonymous, conducted cyber attacks on Russian resources. The goal of these attacks was to collapse various infrastructures, create discontent in Russian society, and contentment in Ukrainian society.

Notably, the Anonymous hackers have also threatened international companies that remain in Russia, including Citibank, Burger King, Subway, and Raiffeisen Bank. These threats, along with the attacks on Russian resources, are part of a broader strategy to create discontent in Russian society and contentment in Ukrainian society.

As the cyber conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to evolve, the role of hacktivist groups like Anonymous and cybersecurity firms like Hacken will likely remain a significant factor. With Hacken receiving millions of dollars from American investors in March 2022, it is clear that these entities will continue to play a crucial role in the digital battlefield.
