Prepare for a groundbreaking event in the maritime industry as Marintec China 2025 is set to take place in Shanghai from December 2-5, 2025. This biennial exhibition, which has been a global leader in the maritime sector since 1985, promises to be the largest and most influential event in the field.

Marintec China 2025 will focus on digitalisation and green technologies, with a particular emphasis on energy efficiency and intelligent environmental protection. The forum aims to foster innovation and collaboration to ensure a sustainable future for the maritime industry.

Organised and managed by Informa Markets and the Shanghai Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers (SSNAME), the event will feature an expanded exhibition space of 110,000 square metres, thanks to the addition of new outdoor halls. Over 2,200 exhibiting companies from around the world, including 16 national and regional pavilions, are expected to participate.

The theme of Marintec China 2025 is "Innovation and Collaboration for Maritime Sustainability". This theme is reflected in the various zones and forums that will be present at the event. For instance, the Energytec zone, spanning Halls N4 and W1, will showcase global maritime energy innovations.

One of the key areas of focus will be the Energytec Conference, which will take place in Hall N4. This conference will feature five sessions on energy transition technologies. Additionally, the Cruise, Yacht, Vehicle and Vessel Association will organise member showcases and dialogue sessions.

Another significant development is the introduction of Marintec Cruise Interiors at Marintec China 2025. This new feature will include "The Theatre" and "The Deck", providing a platform for companies to showcase their latest innovations in cruise interiors.

Moreover, Marintec China 2025 will highlight domestic participation from 24 Chinese provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. Notably, the Nantong Municipal People's Government, together with Nantong Shipbuilding & Offshore Industry, will host a dedicated "Nantong Innovation" session.

In terms of international collaboration, Norway has been designated as the Guest Country of Honour at Marintec China 2025, aiming to deepen bilateral maritime collaboration. Countries represented with national and regional pavilions at the event include China, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Norway.

The global newbuild market has experienced five consecutive years of sustained growth since 2021, but new order intake shows signs of decline. Despite this, China's shipbuilding industry remains dominant, accounting for 46.6% of global output, 63.7% of new orders, and 57.2% of the order backlog.

To minimise its environmental footprint, Marintec 2025 is committed to implementing sustainable practices such as reducing material use, promoting digital alternatives, and encouraging renewable energy sources.

Lastly, the Senior Maritime Forum will bring together global visionaries across five specialized sessions. One of these sessions will be hosted by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, focusing on the cruise equipment supply chain.

Mark your calendars for December 2-5, 2025, and join Marintec China 2025 in Shanghai for an unparalleled experience in the maritime industry.
