Up-to-date Information: Employee Access gravity-shifted to Assist Remote Clients amidst COVID-19 Outbreak

In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Boris FX has taken steps to help its customers who are working from home. Recognising the impact of the pandemic, Boris FX has provided free temporary home use licenses for key products such as Sapphire, Continuum, Mocha Pro, and Silhouette.

Deactivating and Reactivating Node-Locked Licenses

For customers with node-locked licenses, Boris FX offers a simple process to deactivate and reactivate their licenses. Customers can temporarily deactivate their license on their office computer before switching to a different machine. The deactivation process typically involves using an official deactivation tool or option within the Boris FX license manager, which frees up the license for activation elsewhere.

Once the user switches to their remote or home computer, they can reactivate their license on that machine using the same license management utility. This ensures continued access without needing to purchase an additional license. More information about the Boris FX Application Manager can be found on the Boris FX website.

Free "At Home" Licenses

The free temporary home use licenses enable uninterrupted access without violating license terms. These licenses are intended to help customers who had to disrupt their normal working environments and move their editing, compositing, and motion graphics work to their homes due to the pandemic. Qualifying Boris FX customers are encouraged to read the FAQ for more details about the free 60-day "at home" licenses.

Community Support

Boris Yamnitsky, CEO/Founder of Boris FX, expresses empathy towards the disruption of businesses due to the global event. He emphasises the importance of community support in lessening the impact of the global event. "We are all in this together," says Yamnitsky, "and I encourage community support and cooperation during these challenging times."

Continued Service

Boris FX has committed to continue serving and supporting the worldwide broadcast and post-production community during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Customer service operations like plug-in support and license assistance are available through phone, forums, email, and chat. Quotes, new license purchases, upgrades, and renewals are all being processed as usual.

Safety Measures

Boris FX is taking all necessary precautions to protect their team, families, and communities during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Boris FX staff have been working remotely since last week to minimise community spread.

Customers can now deactivate their node-locked licenses directly from the Boris FX website. For any updates or additional information regarding the offer, customers are advised to check the Boris FX website regularly. Boris FX is offering this support as part of its ongoing commitment to the broadcast and post-production community.
