VanEck Launches First European ESG-Screened Sector ETFs
VanEck has launched the first European ESG-screened equity sector ETFs, tracking the MSCI ESG-Screened Index. These ten sector ETFs have been classified as Article 8 funds under the EU's disclosure regulation.
The new ETFs, which cover sectors like communication services, consumer goods, and energy, use MSCI's established ESG-screening method combined with additional filters. These filters eliminate companies with poor ESG ratings and those involved in controversial activities like conventional weapons.
Investors have shown strong interest in sustainable investments. This year alone, inflows into ESG-Xtrackers ETFs have surpassed 4.4 billion euros. VanEck, known for its UCITS ETFs aligned with Europe's sustainability regulations, has capitalised on this trend by offering these innovative ETFs.
The new ETFs provide investors with a way to gain exposure to various European equity sectors while adhering to ESG principles. By using MSCI's screening method and additional filters, these funds ensure that only companies with strong ESG credentials make the cut.
