Verizon AI Connect: Empowering AI Solutions at Scale

Verizon has announced the launch of Verizon AI Connect, a platform designed to accelerate the development and deployment of AI solutions for hyperscalers, cloud providers, and global enterprises. The platform, which leverages Verizon's advanced network capabilities, aims to transform customer, employee, and network experiences.

Verizon's strategy to power the AI ecosystem involves reimagining existing assets and integrating them into its intelligent and programmable network. Google Cloud, for instance, will be using Verizon's AI and data platform to enhance its network maintenance and anomaly detection. Meta, too, is partnering with Verizon to build and operate networks that support their existing services and foster more intelligent and predictive capabilities.

One of the key partners in this endeavour is NVIDIA, with the two companies working together to reimagine how GPU-based edge platforms can be integrated into Verizon's 5G private networks. NVIDIA's AI and accelerated computing, integrated with Verizon's network, will enable enterprises to easily adopt AI-powered services at scale.

The shift towards real-time decision-making (inferencing) in AI is expected to drive demand for additional computing power, with 60-70% of AI workloads expected to shift to real-time inference by 2030. To cater to this demand, Verizon has partnered with Vultr, a global GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) and cloud computing provider. This partnership will allow Vultr to extend its global cloud footprint and bring cutting-edge AI solutions to Verizon Business' global customers.

Verizon AI Connect offers low-latency, high-bandwidth connectivity combined with edge computing and security capabilities, enabling large-scale AI deployment at the network edge. Major clients such as Google Cloud and Meta are already using Verizon AI Connect to power their AI workloads, validating Verizon’s infrastructure strategy and making Verizon a foundational technology enabler in the AI ecosystem.

To meet the increasing demand for low-latency connectivity, compute, and security at the edge, Verizon AI Connect leverages Verizon's extensive 5G network and fiber infrastructure. This infrastructure is being expanded to support next-generation AI applications requiring immediate processing close to data sources.

Verizon's ongoing investments in 5G, fiber, and AI-enhanced operations aim to scale this platform as AI adoption grows, positioning Verizon to lead in enabling AI workloads at the network edge for the foreseeable future. The platform also focuses on strategic partnerships with hyperscalers and cloud providers, embedding AI-driven efficiency enhancements, ensuring data privacy and security, and offering AI-enhanced customer experience services.

In summary, Verizon AI Connect is a live, commercially deployed platform that supports hyperscalers, cloud providers, and global enterprises by delivering low-latency, secure edge computing and high-capacity network connectivity. Verizon’s ongoing investments in 5G, fiber, and AI-enhanced operations aim to scale this platform as AI adoption grows, positioning Verizon to lead in enabling AI workloads at the network edge for the foreseeable future.
