Virtual Switch for NAB Show 2024: Planar and Disguise Adopt Digital Platforms for Production, Along with Other Developments
At this year's NAB Show, Disguise and JVC Professional Video are set to showcase their latest broadcast and virtual production (VP) solutions across six different booths.
Disguise will be presenting its updated Porta Broadcast Graphics Controller, which has been upgraded for Unreal Engine 5.4. The Porta graphics and media controller allows broadcasters to control all their Unreal Engine graphics and LED studios through a single user interface, whether in the cloud or on-prem.
The new Porta release supports the upcoming Unreal Engine 5.4 release, including the dedicated Unreal Engine motion graphics toolset. This upgrade promises to streamline workflows and enhance the overall broadcast experience.
Joining Disguise in the spotlight is JVC Professional Video, who will be showcasing the new KM-IP12S8 Series CONNECTED CAM vMix Studio Switchers. The KM-IP12S8 Series is a complete live video production solution, ideal for live sports and event productions.
The KM-IP12S8 includes three 2.5 GbE Ethernet ports for NDI, SRT, Dante, and RTMPS internet connectivity, ensuring seamless integration with various systems. It offers multiple output options, including 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HDMI, and DisplayPort.
The KM-IP12S8 supports up to 12 NDI/SRT and eight SDI video inputs, making it a versatile tool for live production. The series comes standard with a licensed version of either the vMix 4K or vMix Pro Live Production and Streaming software, depending on the model.
For those seeking advanced features, the KM-IP12S8PRO offers the same hardware specifications as the KM-IP12S8, but with the addition of the vMix Pro software license. This upgrade enables eight-channel instant replay, providing more control and flexibility during live productions.
