VivoPower selects Crypto.com as its custodial ally for XRP savings plan strategy
In a bold move, VivoPower, a Nasdaq-listed company founded in 2014, has embarked on a strategic journey to become a major player in the XRP and XRP Ledger ecosystem. This shift, announced in recent months, has seen the company invest heavily in XRP and Ripple, positioning itself as a leading XRP-focused digital asset enterprise.
Based in multiple regions including the United Kingdom, North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East, VivoPower operates in various sectors. However, its Caret Digital business unit, with a focus on renewable power use, has taken centre stage in this new direction. This division is now spearheading the company's foray into digital asset mining, particularly in the realm of XRP.
In June, VivoPower revealed plans to invest $100 million in Ripple shares, a move that has brought them exposure to approximately 211 million XRP tokens, valued at around $696 million at the time, with an implied XRP price of $0.47—below current market prices. The company also raised $121 million to launch an XRP treasury program, allowing them to invest directly in XRP on the Flare Network to generate yield.
VivoPower's strategic partnership with Crypto.com has been instrumental in this transformation. The partnership enhances the liquidity, execution, and governance of VivoPower's digital asset treasury, providing access to sophisticated crypto infrastructure and custody services. The company has also engaged leading custodians like BitGo and market infrastructure partners including Nasdaq Private Market, the preferred Ripple share transaction platform.
This strategic evolution aligns VivoPower's growth with Ripple's expanding business, which now includes stablecoins (RLUSD partnered with BNY Mellon), digital asset custody, and prime brokerage services. The positive legal outcome from Ripple's dismissed SEC lawsuit in August 2025 further reduces regulatory uncertainty, supporting VivoPower's optimistic outlook on Ripple's market and technological progress.
By embracing the rapidly expanding decentralized finance and real-world assets ecosystem on the Ripple blockchain network, VivoPower aims to capture similar momentum as one of the top U.S.-listed companies offering exposure to XRP as a yield-generating asset. This shift towards a digital asset treasury model, supported by Crypto.com's ecosystem, positions VivoPower as the first XRP-dedicated public company, enhancing shareholder value and supporting real-world blockchain applications and decentralized finance (DeFi) infrastructure.
In summary, VivoPower's strategic partnership with Crypto.com, combined with its acquisition of Ripple shares and direct XRP investments, has accelerated its growth by building a robust, diversified, and well-governed XRP-focused digital asset treasury that leverages Ripple's expanding market footprint and improved regulatory clarity. This move positions VivoPower as a key player in the XRP and XRP Ledger ecosystem, with potential to significantly impact the digital asset market.
