Volkswagen dismisses the possibility of using misleading names for their upcoming electric vehicle models.
Volkswagen Reveals New Names for Future Electric Models: ID.EVERY 1 and ID.2all
In an interview with Auto und Wirtschaft, Volkswagen's member of the management board for sales, Martin Sander, confirmed that the forthcoming electric vehicles, currently named ID.EVERY 1 and ID.2all, will receive new production names that align with the brand's historical naming conventions.
Sander explained, "The cars will bear more traditional, fitting names as we transition out of the 'ID' naming scheme." The specific new names have not yet been announced by the company.
Scheduled for a 2027 launch, the ID.EVERY 1, an entry-level model, will carry a price tag below 20,000 euros. The ID.2all, set for release in 2026, will debut in a higher segment with a starting price around 25,000 euros.
Recent speculation suggests that the ID.2all may be renamed the 'Polo,' while the ID.EVERY 1 could potentially be called the 'Up.' Alternatively, the models might be designated as 'Polo EV' and 'Up EV.' However, these are unconfirmed rumors.
Volkswagen is poised to unveil an unprecedented powertrain in the T-Roc, as a separate report reveals.
What will Volkswagen's ID.EVERY 1 and ID.2all electric vehicles be named as they transition out of the 'ID' naming scheme? They may potentially be called the 'Up' and 'Polo,' or 'Up EV' and 'Polo EV,' respectively, though these are merely rumors. Will the future of transportation and automotive industry be impacted by Volkswagen's moves in finance and technology sectors?
