Waterproof Drone Capable of Landing and Taking Off Submerged: HOVERAir Aqua Demonstrates On-Water Capabilities

The HoverAir Aqua, a waterproof drone designed for those who love outdoor adventures, has recently been unveiled by HoverAir. This mid-range device boasts advanced waterproofing and 4K camera capabilities, making it an exciting addition to the market.

The HoverAir Aqua is expected to be priced around $500, falling between the price range of HoverAir's previous models. It weighs just under 250 grams, exempting it from FAA registration for recreational use in the U.S.

One of the key features of the HoverAir Aqua is its full waterproofing, achieved through over a dozen technologies, including an IP-67 rating that allows it to be submerged in both fresh and saltwater. It can take off and land on water surfaces, making it ideal for activities like surfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.

The drone is equipped with a 4K 100fps camera and a 1/1.3-inch sensor for high-quality photos and videos, promising better water angles than before. It is self-flying, with AI tracking and intelligent flight paths. The HoverAir Aqua is designed to frame shots while following the user's movements, offering advanced capabilities for autonomous flight.

The designers of the HoverAir Aqua have advised caution when using it in conditions with crashing waves. The drone has a top speed of approximately 34 mph and a custom lens designed for use in water.

The HoverAir Aqua has a distinctive bright orange design that resembles a traffic cone or ocean buoy. It can be signed up for updates on the brand's website. As of the article's publication, the HoverAir Aqua has not yet been tested by HoverAir's website.

HoverAir gained widespread praise for the user-friendly interface and ability of its previous drone, the HOVERAir X1, to follow the photographer. The HoverAir Aqua is aimed at users who want a drone usable on water without worrying about damage.

Industry experts predict that the HoverAir Aqua will be available for purchase imminently or very soon after early August 2025, when it was teased and detailed. The exact release date has not been announced yet.
