wedotv Expands in Italy, Lands on Sky Italia
wedotv has bolstered its presence in Italy by securing distribution on Sky Italia. The deal adds two of wedotv's FAST channels to Sky's satellite line-up, making them accessible to over a third of Italian households. This expansion follows wedotv's initial launch in Italy in 2021.
The two channels, wedotv movies Italia and wedotv Big Stories, will join Sky Italia's offerings. Sky Italia, which serves Italy, San Marino, and Vatican City, will use wedotv's Hotbird Satellite distribution for this expansion. wedotv's founder, Philipp Rotermund, has driven this growth.
Previously, wedotv had already utilised its HbbTV Addressable TV Solution for dynamic ad insertion in the local Italian market. This technology is now employed on both wedotv channels available to consumers.
wedotv's expansion onto Sky Italia increases its reach significantly, benefiting both consumers and advertisers. The addition of wedotv movies Italia and wedotv Big Stories to Sky's offerings demonstrates wedotv's commitment to growing its presence in the Italian market.
