Wistron plans to infuse over US$1 billion into its subsidiaries based in the United States and Mexico.

Fast and Furious, Wistron's AI Extravaganza

Hey there! Let's chat about Wistron Corp, a Taiwanese tech giant that's pumping over a billion bucks into its US and Mexican subsidiaries in response to Stateside tariff policies - pretty sweet deal, right?

You might think of Wistron as the badass of computer and peripheral manufacturing, but they're about to up the ante with some serious AI moves. Four of the ten investment proposals greenlit by their board this week are for beefing up their production in the US, starting with a whopping $455 million injection into their Texas-based subsidiary, Wistron InfoComm (USA) Corp (WIUS).

So what's the cash for? Well, WIUS gets to snap up some prime real estate and facilities at their Westport site, sink some green into facility upgrades for future AI manufacturing demands, touch up their Eagle plant, and scoop up machinery and equipment. No small fries, my friend!

Oh, and they're not done in Dallas. It seems the board also gave a thumbs up to SMS Infocomm Corp's Dallas facility lease from this year to 2030 for after-sales services and other needs. Neat, huh?

Their Mexican Piñata ain't half bad either. Wistron plans to drop a cool $16.7 million to upgrade their factory in Juarez, Mexico, preparing it to meet future AI server demands. And hey, they might even lease a new place for warehousing needs through 2030, ringing in up to $23 million.

Now, Wistron wasn't stingy at home, either. They boosted their capital budget from NT $3.896 billion to NT $3.914 billion for new equipment and facilities at their Hsinchu plant. Plus, they added an extra NT $1.7 billion to their asset management unit to support their fancy new digs in Taipei’s Neihu District (內湖) and founded a venture capital unit with up to NT $3.5 billion.

Don't mind them bragging about their impressive revenue boost either! With last month's revenue jumping 84.1 percent year-on-year to NT$133.7 billion (their highest ever for April), and cumulative revenue for the first four months skyrocketing 54.5 percent, they've got plenty to smile about.

Now, Quanta Computer Inc isn't far behind. They reported a whopping 58.22 percent revenue increase for April and a cumulative revenue growth of 79.55 percent in the first four months too. Can't shake these guys off! They're transitioning from notebook computer tech to AI servers and automotive devices - fancy that!

So these industry giants are transforming themselves into AI heavyweights, ready to rule the tech world! Stay tuned for the latest in our chaotic tech frenzy! 💻🚀💥
