Wrightbus Unveils 6×2 Zero-Emission StreetDeck Bus, Secures £150M Finance for Global Expansion
Wrightbus, a leading innovator in the bus manufacturing industry, has announced significant expansion plans. This move is set to support over 7,500 jobs in the wider supply chain, demonstrating the company's commitment to growth and sustainability.
The company, which has transformed since 2019, now employs over 2,300 people and produces 95% zero-emission buses annually. This commitment to innovation has culminated in a major milestone: the unveiling of the 6×2 zero-emission StreetDeck bus.
The 6×2 StreetDeck, two years in the making, is a testament to Wrightbus's engineering prowess. It can handle different axle configurations and increased battery capability without compromising passenger numbers. This 'triumph of engineering' was simultaneously produced at Wrightbus's manufacturing facilities in Ballymena, Northern Ireland and Malaysia.
To facilitate increased production and meet global demand, Wrightbus has secured a £150 million finance package from HSBC UK. With international orders secured for the Far East and Europe, Wrightbus is now the world's fastest-growing zero-emission bus manufacturer.
