CNET Highlights

iOS 19 → iOS 26

Without a doubt, the highlight of WWDC 2025 will be the unveiling of the 19th version of iOS, now to be known as iOS 26. Given iOS's popularity, it's always a mainstay of the keynote.

Rumors suggest that iOS 26 could include some significant changes, primarily a design revamp similar to iOS 7. It's still unclear how far-reaching these changes will be, but considering the possible redesign of other operating systems, a refreshed iOS is on the horizon.

Furthermore, there are whispers that the long-awaited Siri update could appear in iOS 26, although its release date is still up in the air.

iPadOS 26

Along with iOS 26, we're also expecting to see iPadOS 26. Similar to iOS, it'll likely receive a slate of updates in line with the iOS system.

It's possible that this could be the year when iPadOS diverges from iOS, with a more Mac-like interface to better support Magic Keyboard and mouse usage on iPads.

macOS 26

Another lock for WWDC 2025 is the 16th edition of macOS, which will be christened macOS 26. As with previous macOS updates, expect it to get a design makeover inspired by the visual overhaul across other operating systems.

watchOS 26

Although not the star of the show, the Apple Watch will undoubtedly receive an update with watchOS 26, complete with visual enhancements and possibly more AI features.

visionOS 26

The Apple Vision Pro still struggles to make a dent in the market, but Apple has vowed to support it with software updates. As such, we can expect a peek at visionOS 26 during the keynote.

Apple Intelligence updates

Delays with Apple Intelligence have caused a major shake-up within the company, so it's hoped that WWDC 2025 will showcase better features and faster updates, including the elusive LLM Siri update.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available!
