Xbox Game Pass expands its library in August with additions like Assassin's Creed and a popular cooperative game returning to the service.
Get ready, gamers! August 2025 is shaping up to be a fantastic month for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as a host of new games are set to join the lineup.
Kicking off the festivities on August 5, 2025, three exciting titles will make their debut on the Standard version of Xbox Game Pass: Rain World, Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, and Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders. The following day, MechWarrior 5: Clans will also join the Standard version of the service.
But that's not all - multiple games that were previously exclusive to the Ultimate and PC tiers of Xbox Game Pass are now being brought to the Standard version in August 2025.
For those who enjoy co-op gaming and the Alien mythos, Aliens: Fireteam Elite will return to Xbox Game Pass on August 12, 2025. This thrilling game offers a variety of difficulty options and promises unexpected encounters.
In terms of departures, three titles - Persona 3 Reload, Anthem, and Farming Simulator 22 - will leave Xbox Game Pass on August 15, 2025. Notably, Persona 3 Reload has received high critical acclaim. While it is possible that Atlas Fallen may also depart after August 15th, this has not been officially confirmed yet.
Meanwhile, Assassin's Creed Mirage is another title to look forward to. Set in Baghdad, this 2023 spinoff entry in the long-running franchise offers a concise gameplay experience that can be completed in approximately 20 hours. It's available now on Xbox Game Pass and strips away some combat options from larger games.
Lastly, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is coming exclusively to the Standard version of Xbox Game Pass on August 6, 2025.
