Xiaomi Unveils 17 Series with Unique Second Display and Impressive Cameras
Xiaomi has unveiled its latest smartphones, skipping the 16 series to align with Apple's numbering. The new range includes the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and Pro Max, featuring a unique second display and impressive camera systems.
The standout feature of the Pro models is the second display on the back. This offers a resolution of 904 x 572 pixels for the Pro and 976 x 596 pixels for the Pro Max, with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. These devices also boast impressive battery capacities, with the Pro and Pro Max packing 6,300 mAh and 7,500 mAh respectively. All three models support 100W wired fast charging and up to 50W wireless charging.
The camera systems on these devices are a highlight. All three models feature a Leica logo, with the Pro versions sporting three 50MP rear cameras and 5x optical zoom. Powering these devices is Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
Pricing in China starts at 4,499 Yuan (around 540 EUR) for the Xiaomi 17, 4,999 Yuan (around 600 EUR) for the Pro, and 5,999 Yuan (around 720 EUR) for the Pro Max. Sales connections in Europe include major telecom providers like Deutsche Telekom, with retail shops in Germany and likely other European markets through similar carriers.
