XRP's price potentially plummeting to $3, following Blackrock's disclosure of having no immediate intentions for an XRP ETF.
In a move that may surprise some, BlackRock has confirmed it has no plans to file for a U.S. spot XRP ETF at this time, despite ongoing market speculation and an environment increasingly favourable to XRP after the Ripple vs. SEC lawsuit resolution. The financial giant has explicitly denied owning XRP or having any XRP ETF intentions, maintaining its focus on Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs for now.
Despite BlackRock's stance, several experts and market commentators predict that the company may eventually file for an XRP ETF. XRP's status as a top-five non-stablecoin cryptocurrency, coupled with BlackRock's broad crypto strategy, suggests that an XRP ETF could be a logical next step for the financial giant. Nate Geraci, President of The ETF Store, argues that it would be consistent with BlackRock's approach to launch individual spot ETFs for major cryptos, including XRP and Solana.
However, BlackRock appears to be exercising caution by waiting for deeper liquidity and stronger institutional demand before entering the XRP market. Other asset managers such as Bitwise and 21Shares have already filed for XRP ETFs but face delayed regulatory approval.
Meanwhile, the XRP market is not standing still. OpenPad AI's OPAD token is set to debut today on KuCoin and MEXC, coinciding with the company's Token Generation Event (TGE). Analysts predict that XRP's price may reach $5, and there is a growing anticipation that other asset managers may push forward with XRP ETFs.
While BlackRock denies current XRP ETF plans, market experts strongly anticipate that the firm may pursue a spot XRP ETF in the future once conditions become more favourable. However, as of late August 2025, no filings or official announcements have been made by BlackRock regarding XRP ETFs.
